Petrie Island Canoe Club COVID-Safe Winter Fitness

Give a Teen the gift that keeps on giving this Christmas at Petrie Island Canoe Club!

This winter, Petrie Island Canoe Club is offering a unique and affordable training program for youth. Whether they’re training for competition or simply to stay in shape, our team of qualified instructors will guide them through 26 weeks of rigorous exercise and physical training that will surely get their entire bodies pumping!

Convenient after-school cross-country skiing workouts make great use of our local ski trails and help keep us connected as a team. Zoom fitness sessions focus on core, agility, balance, power and speed as well as muscle and joint stability through a variety of interval, circuit and weight training routines. Coaches emphasize both fitness and fun!

Three times this winter, Petrie Island Canoe Club will meet up with other canoe clubs for a long ski at Gatineau Park. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy some excellent trails and to connect with paddlers from all around Ottawa. Who knows? Maybe one day, we’ll get to race at regattas together!

* FAMILIES WELCOME: Saturday Cross-Country Ski / Outdoor Trail Run Sessions are open to members and their families. In COVID times, it’s more important than ever to stay connected, so come soak up some vitamin D while the kids work out! Whether you’re into going fast, or whether you prefer a more leisurely pace, we’re happy to have you on board!
