Winter Program Registration Is Open!
February to April 2020 Sessions
Petrie Island Canoe Club is pleased to offer excellent-caliber winter training programs to the Orleans area, and surrounding communities.
We have designed our programs to work for athletes with busy school schedules, or those who are participating in various other sports programs around town. You may choose the level of time commitment that suits you the best, whether that’s three, six, or up to nine sessions a week.
Our programs will include a variety of activities including exercises for agility, balance, and joint stability, circuit training, weight training, canoe/kayak pool paddling, swimming, running, Cross Country skiing and rock wall climbing. Functional Strength & Fitness Development (Age 10 and Up)
1 to 3 Sessions/Week: $300
Based on the Learning to Compete stage of CKC’s LTAD model. this program will allow participants to attend up to three sessions per week of their choosing. The goals of this program are centered on basic strength, overall fitness and racing development for the 2019 season. Training sessions will target the development of general endurance, speed, and strength through high-intensity circuit training, swimming, running, XC skiing, and functional & dynamic strength training.
Junior Development (Age 14 and Up)
4 to 6 Sessions/Week: $425
Based on the Training to Train and Training to Compete stages of CKC’s LTAD model, this program will run four to six sessions per week with the goal of preparing athletes for local, Provincial and National Competitions. Training sessions will target the development of endurance, speed, and strength. Participants in this program will be following a yearly training plan.
High Performance (Age 15 to 18 with Coach’s Approval)
5 to 9 Sessions/Week: $525
Based on the Training to Train and Training to Compete stages of LTAD model, this program will run five to nine sessions per week with the goal of preparing athletes for success at local, Provincial and National Competitions. Training sessions will target further development of sport specific endurance, speed, and strength. Participants in this program will be following a detailed and individualized yearly training plan.
